Compassionate Dental Care by an Expert

Dr Thangavel is a proud local of the Wollongong area. He completed his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Otago, New Zealand. He then returned to work in private practice in the Wollongong and Sydney area for 5 years before embarking on a specialist training program at the University of Sydney. He has worked as a staff specialist at Westmead Dental Hospital, gaining experience in the management of complex cases and was involved in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS), Australian Dental Association (ADA), International Team for implantology (ITI), International College of Prosthodontists (ICP) and Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS).

Dr Thangavel prides himself on his passion for excellence and working with his patients to find the best possible treatment outcomes for their individual circumstances.

Arun completed his undergraduate dental training at the University of Otago in New Zealand, and went on to complete his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) at the University of Sydney. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) and a number of professional associations.

Dr Thangavel also has an interest in continuing education programs for students and dentists. This includes lecturing and mentorship for Charles Sturt University and University of Sydney Implant diploma programs.

Outside of work, Dr Thangavel is an enthusiastic hiker and loves travelling to adventurous places. He loves the coastal lifestyle associated with living in Wollongong and enjoys taking his dog (and wife) to the beach.
